Dear friends and family,

I made it safely to Umatilla. Just a forethought, I pictured a mission being this: walking many miles with no car, living in an apartment, teaching in the Ghetto, and loving it. Umatilla is the dream I dreamed. Its pretty great here! We are teaching a lot of people and a lot of them actually have a testimony of the Church! Mind blown!

This week was really great though. I said farewell to Selah and while I was being transfered, I ran into Elder F_____, now a zone leader in Kennewick. He told me that L______'s daughter just got baptized!!! For those of you who don't remember who that is, we tracted into L_____ in like April I think and reactivated her and it was sweet! Her daughter, who had no belief in God while I was there, was the one baptized. It was a testimony to me that while we may not always see the fruits of our labors (in this case I got to here about it) good things always come.

"And if it so be that you should labor all your days in crying repentance unto this people, and bring, save it be one soul unto me, how great shall be your joy with him in the kingdom of my Father!
And now, if your joy will be great with one soul that you have brought unto me into the kingdom of my Father, how great will be your joy if you should bring many souls unto me!" (D&C 18:15-16)
We should all be looking for missionary opportunities. I know that as we "Ask the Father in [His] name in faith, believing that you shall receive," that "you shall have the Holy Ghost, which manifesteth all things which are expedient unto the children of men." (D&C 18:18) Ask Him, and He will answer. I testify of the joys of being in the Lord's service. I know that He lives, and died so that we may return to live with God again. I love you all and hope that you will see opportunities to share the good word Halleluiah!!!
Love,
Elder Spencer Coleman
